Comment: They are very similar to chain pickerel and will hit a bait that is much larger than you would expect. They are smaller than chain pickerel and usually live in small streams or oxbow lakes.

Comment: When I was a boy, I often caught redfin pickerel in a swampy stream in Dillon County, SC. They were great acrobatic fighters and would hit a red and white spoon in a flash. They are small fish but are good table fare.
